Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice I have revieved. I am
pretty confident it's very genuine from some of the things I have
heard...it shouldn't be too tough to tell once I'd have it up close.
The owner answered all of my questions about it fairly well, and
everything sounds in pretty good order. It all sounds very original
and it is pretty rough. All of the panels have a little surface rust
( the paint is pretty shot....it's going to be an amatuer restore
project.), but the only panels that will probably need replacing are
the rocker panels. The floors are solid with pretty little rust, and
the engine is also original according to the owner. It all sounds
pretty legit. One question....is there something rare about the
overflow tank for the radiators in any of these things? ( or
something like that ) I know it has that, and the owner said it was
a kinda hard to come by part. The mileage is in the upper
70k...sounds pretty feasible. It is in running order, but the
hydrualics are a little touchy, so I'd probably want to haul it home.
The frame is said to be in very solid shape.
Well....those are most of the details about it...the car I am
looking at is further up in New England...not here in PA, so I don't
know the feasibility of getting much help there. I'd really hate to
drag someone all the way out there. Like I said, it is about a 6
hour drive from here. Guess it's another option to consider.
Thanks to all for the advice.
