All;
-HARUUMM! (sound of throat clearing by embarrassed party) Also got
your note about the repro. air cleaner.
-I gave Gary Winblad back his air-cleaner , so I don't have my
"sample" anymore. However, that's no excuse for me not to do the next
step.
-I recently went to a JOB SHOP show here in the Valley. There were
many stamping firms represented...this I feel is the way to go vs.
having a sheet-metal house do the part. Our main sheet-metal supplier
gave me a "no-quote" anyway. Initial costs will all go for the
tooling, (dies). Then I can do my B/E on mfg. costs, both with &
without lettering.
-A stamping vendor came by the other day, the cost of tooling for forming
&
drawing for the repro. air cleaner would run $50K-$60K. There are
alternative, cheaper ways to go. What I need over and above having a set
of
drawings, is another Air Cleaner assembly to "borrow" for the set-up. The
technology exists to make a first article right from the sample.
