Kind of reminds me of Jags; 3.4s were fire breathers, 3.8s had more bottom,
4.2s were cream-puffs.

I have a stock 1275. I understand that the early 1098's (10CG) throw rods
because they have smaller mains. The later 1098's (10CC) are improved and are
great. If you have the later 1098, I'd leave it. I hear they rev very nice,
even better than a 1275 in that aspect. Also, keep the stock transmission
setup, not worth the trouble and non-reversible destructive mods to the car.
The only real benefit is gaining a little more driveablility at freeway
speeds.
