Jim,
We had the same situation with our Sprite, the Oregon title listed
it as a 1961, but the BMIHT certificate read May 11-12, 1960.
The Oregon DMV accepted the certificate date and re-issued the
title as 1960. (This was 1989, after we got the BMIHT certificate.)
IMHO, try to get it changed to 1960.

Subject: [Spridgets] To Title as 60 or 61?
Good-day folks.
I received my heritage certificate for my frogeye .. It has a build date of
July 5 1960. The car was imported into California and has a black plastic
tag
indicating BMC 61 adjacent to the VIN. The car was incorrectly titled as a
64
at some point and I now have the opportunity to correct that. What is the
consensus on if the car would have originally been titled as a 1960 (build
date) or 1961 (BMC tag).
Thanks.
Jim Sailer
