Tie a couple of short lengths of butchers twine or string to the trigger.
When I was trapping NJ mice about 40% of them could clean the trigger and
scurry away. If there is a piece of string on the trigger they tend to chew
and tug on the trigger and BANG you got the little buggers. It works for
almost all the mice. Make sure the strings are coated with peanut butter.
