The 23D (40819) IS a fine distributor, Ron.
And it's not a question whether Joe's motor
will work with a #40819 advance curve. Of
course it will. It'll work with a whole bunch
of available curves. But could he do better??
Which one will be "best"??
You see, Ron....you're racing and so in your
case, considering where in the rpm range
you spend 99.9% of your time, "total" advance is the more important number and
not so much the advance (torque)
CURVE.
Not so for the road....where
advance CURVE can make all the difference
in the world in terms of torque (street
performance....as after all, "torque gets you there, HP keeps you there") along
with
reasonable fuel consumption (engine
efficiency, oil contamination, etc.)
