I just came in from the garage cursing the rear brakes on my Bug. The old
linings are worn thin and new parts are on hand. The Bugeye has been
retrofitted with later rear brakes with dual piston wheel cylinders. Off
with the old was no problem and I even took pictures of the spring locations
remembering a problem with these brakes maybe eight or ten years ago. I
have read both the Bentley and Haynes and they both simply say reassembly is
the reverse, you know the rest of the story. There must be a trick to
putting the springs back on? I will ship a 6 pack to the one that shares
their secret with me!
