I will add an endorsement for the people who wrote that. Ann and Jake own
nothing but MGs. Last year or the year before they installed the Moss
supercharger kit on their MGB GT. They are regular attendees at John Twist's
University Motors seminars and they do all their own work.
That said, I will point out that the shaft diameter of an HS2 is not
necessarily the same as that of the HS4 in the article, so there could be
some translation required.
I would recommend pulling the shaft out and miking it to check for wear,
comparing the shiny part that was rotating in the carb body with a portion
that was not. If you are lucky, you might find that you can get away with
just installing a new shaft.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is ;-)
