For the record, I cured my new throttle cable stickiness by: 1. Removing the cable and dripping some "3 in one" down it's length. 2. Removing the accelerator pedal, cleaning all the gunk off, and greasing it at the attachment points. I don't know which one of the above solved the problem, as I did both at once.
