Great to hear you are on your way. If you are in NJ you can get QQ plates.
They are cheaper, good for 5 years and do not require any NJ inspection.
They are a limited use platet. I run QQ plates with regular insurance. I
hope that covers me if I grease a doctor. You could try inspection and if
you fail then either to a private inspection (I think I could find one that
will pass any car) or get QQ plates. Not that I advocate bypassing state
regulations, but ....
