step 17 also tells you NOT to lubricate those drive components because "this
can, after some use, cause the pinion to stick."
huh, look at that. who knew those words were usefull. obviously i didn't read
that part. just looked at the picture so that i could describe the problem
better.
as for no ground, remember that i drove this car just fine for a week after
working on it, and i can't imagine how ground could just go away. the battery
is still connected. and if the battery isn't strong enough wouldn't a jump
start have done anything. the engine still doesn't turn over with the jump,
which is why i'm kind of thinking that's not the problem.
