I just measured the gap tonight (brought a caliper home from work). Max gap is
about .185, and all 8 seem to have the gap. Measuring the height of the
adjuster sticking out of the nut gives about .225 or so - not enough meat left
if I adjust all the way, and probably not enough threads to adjust this far
anyway.
Even if I took .050 off the head, which would take .075 off the lash, that
would leave me still with .110" to account for. In my estimation, either the
cam is not right or the lifters aren't. (the only two things that have been
changed/replaced)
I'm going to try to get hold of Ted tomorrow afternoon, though he's at Sebring
this week.
Any other ideas?
