Take care of it - my MGB (1st car - years ago) did
this in the middle of a long trip. By the end, the
fire department was escorting me home. Lotus nearly
caught fire a few years ago. When I pulled the cat
off, the case had expanded and the honeycomb element
ad rotated 90 degrees, making the blockage that much
worse. In the case of the Lotus, there was a fuel
problem that was flooding the cat with unburned fuel
into the exhaust. The B was a blockage. Get it diagnossed.
