In my V8 Bugeye, there is precious little room left in the footboxes.  Maybe a
foot. I had planned from the beginning to convert my car from
a Dynaflow to a manual gearbox, but I don't think there's enough room to
(safely) place 3 pedals!  OSHA really wouldn't like
the sideways driving ergonomics as is.
