Mark,
Your car seems the twin of mine (also a '69) right down to the (former) smog
stuff. (California has annual smog inspections that used to cause me problems;
thankfully, they recently amended the law and pre-1973 vehicles are now exempt.)
One thing about your car puzzles me, though; the lack of a hood emblem. All
Sprites from 1961-1969 had the "winged Sprite" badge on the hood, which attached
through slots cut in the sheet metal and secured from behind by clips. If there
are no slots in your hood, then I suspect that your car has picked up a Midget
hood somewhere in its lifetime (Midgets did not have a hood emblem; instead,
they carried the MG emblem on the grille, hence to need for holes in the hood.)
