The push button solenoids where standard original equipment on most Brit
cars up to 1967.
Bugeyes and MKIIs had the pull cable solenoid, MKIIIs and early MKIVs
had the push button. As did Minis, A40s, Sunbeams, TRs, MGs.
1968 brings on new federal specs, I guess that was a hazard so the
button was eliminated around this time.
If all else fails, a standard Ford solenoid works. >>

Or for $15 you can buy a remote starter switch at Pep Boys that clips onto
the solenoid.
