Hi Ron,
I talked to him for about a half an hour or so. He seemed to be a real nice
guy. The car is not in Raliegh though, it's in the western end of NC in the
mountains. Lot's of rust and the owner doesn't have a good idea of what to
charge for it. He said the bonnet is good though, might be worth the price
just for that. I was actually headed out to the mountains last weekend for
the South Eastern Classic, but he said he couldn't make it out there to
show me the car. It's all in pieces, lots of rust, supposedly all there,
said it all worked when it was taken apart, yadda, yadda, yadda.......
Someone told him he could get a lot of money for it, I gave him the numbers
from British Car Magazine, basically $1000 - $2000 at the most for a
basketcase. He didn't say no, but he did say he wanted to see what others
would offer him. I got the feeling he was looking for more in the $3000 -
$4000 range, but I could be wrong.
