No don't duck !
You have pretty well exactly described how I did the floor panels on mine.
I found it a pretty straigtforward job, and if I could do it so could anyone !
I used the bolt holes for the rear spring attatchment to help hold it in
place/ line it up right as on mine there wasnt a great deal of the lower edge
of the rear bulkhead left to weld it to.
