Hi all,
I have a feeling someone has done this before so I thought I'd ask the
question here.
I just replaced the windscreen rubber on my '59 Bugeye. Took forever to
figure out how the thing went on in terms of the direction of the seal.
Anyway, once the windscreen is on, the seal extends forward approximately
1-1/2". That is it covers up about half of the wiper ferrule holes. Does
one trim this to make room for the ferrule and its accompanying rubber
seal? or does one trim the windscreen rubber just slightly and use it as
part of the ferrule seal? My original had been trimmed to go around the
ferrule, but I wasn't too sure if that was correct. None of my photo
resources clearly show what is done in this situation. Original Sprite and
Midget doesn't even show how it is done. Any help on this matter is
greatly appreciated.
