Those front side markers look the same as the rear side markers on a
'70-up Midget. Moss carries the rubber bases , and the entire light as
well, you'd just have to swap out  the red lens. The rubber should be
pliable enough to conform to the Spit bonnet.

Listers.. 

I have been contemplating removing the front marker lights and welding
up 
the holes on my 1972 Spitfire. These lights were not installed on home 
market cars. They are not available new and my old bases are cracked and
dry. What are the chances that "John Law" is going to know the
difference. 
Our inspection stations are not run by the state so they won't know the 
difference. There aren't any new Spitfires running around so nothing to 
compare it too. And New cars don't have these separate side marker
lights. 
And After they are welded up there will be no tell tale holes in the
sheet 
metal. So, what say you?
