I'll confirm that as well.
One of the best things I did to my Spitfire was upgrade the alternator -
for the same cost of a standard unit I got the modern Lucas varient -
the A127. With this you dont even have to do any brackets - its a
straight swap... (except for the pulley)
Now I have 65 amps on tap and I dont have to worry about a thing...
except perhaps my wiring going bang because of the current :)
