the 'eyelet' ground under the thumbwheel
screw holding your gauge in is the electrical
ground for the lights in the gauges. The tach
ckt needs it's own good 'power' ground.

Yes, you have the terminal identified correctly.
V+ and ground to power the ckt, and the round
terminal is the coil connection.
