maplight on/off question

I recently installed a folding maplight in my Spit. Problem is it doesn't turn
off when folded up (90 degrees). Is there a quick fix to remedy this?   (long
winter....can't wait to start driving agan this Spring and have some real
problems to fix....) TIA
