Thanks Bill, this will be a big help (much better than peering at the
Haynes black & white image).
Actually it reminds me of another question - what & where is the Lighting
Switch? - as opposed to the steering column light switch.
I don't see one in the new wiring harness I am installing, or the old one
that is coming out.
>From the wiring diagram is doesn't look so much like a switch as some sort
of connection box.

The short answer is yes. The voltage regulator is on the firewall (engine
compartment) in the middle. It is a big brown/black box that says Lucas on
the front (probably 3x5x4 inches or so) The thing on the gauges is the
voltage stabilizer. Two different things.

I can take a picture of mine and email you if you still can't locate it.

Mark - I'm attaching a spit mk2 wiring diagram that someone on this list
was
kind enough to send me as well. I know the list server will strip it to
the
list, so you guys ignore this sentence! :)

Can someone tell me where the voltage regulage regulator lives?
I thought it was on the back of one of the gauges but can't find it to save
myself (Mk2 Spit). Am I confusing the voltage regulator for the gauges
with the regulator for the generator? Are there two regulators, one for
instruments and one for the generator/battery?
Cheers
