Greetings all, and condolences John Hobson on the gasket blowout! Hope all is
rectified soon.

Yesterday I completed the popular GM alternator swap. I was having some
performance and general electrical problems which I was pretty sure were
alternator related. In buying this and that for the spit over the past year I
had accumulated not one, but two GM alternators and decided to give it a go.
All was fairly straightforward. I followed the info on www.teglerizer.com -
Thanks Paul! I did have to grind a bit off of the aftermarket J-bracket to
clear the alternator's fins. The only difficult or time consuming part was
that the bolt holding the J-bracket (and the water pump) sheared off at the
threads. This meant an extra hour of work to remove the radiator and extract
the pump.

End result - Hesitation gone, power back. Dash lights bright - OK - bright as
they've ever been.

Just wanted to give my report and say thanks to all that offer their support -
especially those who document it on the web.
