You are certainly a lesson to us all on the principle that: "It is always
cheaper to buy a car someone else has restored than restore a cheaper car to
the same standard"!
Oh well, as long as you enjoyed yourself doing it all :-)
My approach has been more to make sure that Daffy's semi-shabby state
doesn't get (too much) shabbier. Still, in 3 1/2 years I'm sure I've
probably spent the #1,700 purchase price at least 1 1/2 times over again!
