Just went through this. The PO was having trouble so he added a 12v Sports
coil. When I started trouble shooting I noticed 6V across the coil while
running. The ballast wire was still installed. I read the instructions and
they specify removing the ballast. I just jumpered around the wire. The spark
increased. Also I widen the gap on the plugs to about .040 to take advantage
of the higher (40,000) voltage.
