Agreed.  To be even safer, one really should run two throttle return springs, 
in case one of them breaks.  A rare event, but Murphy's Law dictates that it 
will only happen at the worse possible moment.

It is not a real good idea to have an accelerator return spring connected to 
the frame (or another place that is not part of the engine itself.
