Rather than use POR-15, I used Corroless Primer from Eastwood (as someone else
has mentioned). I sandblasted my frame after scraping all the old undercoating
off, and sprayed the Corroless primer. The Corroless claims to neutralize an
mild surface rust and prevent it from
spreading. It also claims to hold up to moisture and salt (something good for
those of us in the midwest). It sprayed on well, and dried to a nice finish. I
then sprayed Chassis Black over the entire frame.
The Corroless primer is relatively easy to use and reasonably priced. Even an
amateur spray painter such as myself can end up with a good lucking finish.
I would recommend using Corroless to protect the metal instead of using POR-15.
