Speaking of heads and ebay. I won one in an ebay
'auction', supposedly a MK 3. And while looking at it
today (pulling off the assundries to go and get worked
on in the shop), I noticed that there are threaded
ports from the top of the head going into a pipe which
leads to each of the exhaust valve sides of the
combustion chamber.
Evidently, this had an air-rail on it, which from my
estimation makes it a 1500 head.
I don't have an air rail, and I realize that I can
have the ports closed-up with bolts, but I'll still
have an uneven machined surface on the inside of the
combustion chamber to deal with. And the holes, are
just another thing for me to worry about developing a
hairline crack in.
What's the general concensus. Is this thing worth
keeping?
