Carter, Barry, Nolan, My description of the purpose of the manifold heater was lifted straight from a description in the (UK) Moss catalogue. My personal knowledge is limited to the little I've read in a couple of years of Spitfire ownership - I bow to the superior knowledge of the more experienced members of the List such as yourselves! Thank you for making the situation more clear, and adding a little more knowledge to myself and the others on the list. On your advice, I shall leave Daffy's manifold heater connected! Richard |
