A good question and one deserving of an answer.
And the answer is....
It wasn't what he was riding, it was him. The kid was riding on a round,
dish-shaped plastic dish, about 2-3 feet in diameter. He hit the car
sideways taking the left rear bumper in the ribs on his right side. This
happened Thursday evening. The doc gave him a clean bill of health except
for a couple of bruised (maybe fractured?) ribs. I found out later that he
spent most of Friday in bed. Lucky kid. I think if he'd have hit my Jeep,
he would have been a lot worse off.
