125-135 hp naturally aspired should still be quite streetable. 150+ would be
progressively less streetable. But go with a turbo or supercharger, and you can
get power like that and keep it quite streetable. Use a modern fuel injection
and ignition system, complete with computer and knock sensor, and you could run
surprisingly well on pump gas. I'm running a 14 psi turbocharger this way on
another car, and it works nicely.
Biggest thing that would limit the 1500 is the crankshaft design. That you
can't get around.
