Hi Wizardz
There are two things I would look for, are the choke cams and associated
links to the jets free moving and are they returning to the off position and
make sure the throttle cable isn't holding the revs high, easy ways to check
both, one put a finger on the bottom of the jet and lift gently, and for the
other disconnect the link bar between the cable cam and the spindle that
connects to the carbs.
