My car has had sort of a rough idle, and since I had an inspection
coming up, I was eager to cure it. The timing, valves, compression,
etc. were all very good, and the carb mixture was somewhat rich, but
not enough to keep the plugs from looking perfect. I had Bosch
Platinums, and for the hell of it I decided to spend $3.99 and see
if Champion RN12YCs would make any difference. They made no difference
at all.
In the end, the car passed inspection easily. The readings
were:
CO 2.7% (limit 4%)
HC 177 (limit 600)
Bit I still have a rough idle...
