I just finished welding in a new rear valance panel on my 63 to repair
damage incurred by the PO. It appears he replace the trunk (boot) lid with
one from a later model. I'm wondering if the early Spitfire4 badge mounts
lower than the later one that reads just Spitfire. With the Spitfire4
mounted where the Spitfire is made to go, the 4 is way up on the curved part
of the lid and pokes up about 1/8" above the surface. Did they move the
Spitfire badge up a bit when they mounted the MK one below it?
