Interesting comment on used car sales in general, and about long distance,
remote bidding,
purchasing over e-bay. I agree with most everything said. I've bought and sold
many used
cars, some without seeing them, and for the most part have been pleased with the
result. I
have taken steps to attempt to investigate and verify condition and terms, etc,
in advance,
including arranging for inspection, etc. Sometimes I've backed away from an
opportunity because the responses didn't seem credible. However, I continue to
watch for cars and parts for the
relatively hard to find, older sports cars that I enjoy. There are very few of
them in the small towns and the 300 mile radius of the west, where I live, lots
of pick-ups and 4wd's, so e-bay and other internet classifieds, etc, make my
hobby much more available and interesting. Finally, thanks Fred, for pointing
out that not all used car dealers fit the mold. I know a couple, here, who are
like you. Honest, respected, and have proven over the years not only by staying
in business, but making friends. I hope the cars I've resold as a private
seller, have earned me the same regard.
