Thanks to all who responded to my post yesterday about what to do about a
stripped thread in the block that holds one of my oil pan bolts.

I opted to go with the Heli-coil kit, reasoning that the idea was to replace
the stripped threads with the same size, so in the future, I wouldn't have
to worry about isolating the one odd sized bolt, etc.

$33 for the kit, plus another few bucks for the required drill bit was a bit
pricey, but hey, now I have some spares in case I get careless or have an
accident with the rest of the bolts holding the pan up.

I've never done this sort of repair before, so I was a bit nervous.
Additionally, my work area was rather tight. I just barely got the drill
bit in as far as it needed to go in order to open up the hole before tapping
the new threads for the Heli-coil. Then, working the coil into the hole was
also a bit of a challenge, but I was actually quite surprised that the whole
thing took me no more than about 20 minutes.

I felt a real sense of accomplishment after successfully undertaking this
repair. THANKS AGAIN! THIS LIST (meaning the people on it) ARE AWESOME!

Best wishes,
