And Mike is correct on that point (meaning, of course, that Mr. Krause is
mistaken in his statement). Actually, that black "Federal" dash was
introduced in North America on the 1969 models and was "commonised"
across all markets for the Mk.IV., which began in the 1971 model year. And
indeed the wood dash, along with revised graphics on the gauges, was
introduced for the 1973 model year, that also being the first year of the
1500 in North America (FM series).
