After trying for several months to find the proper rubber plinths with no
luck, I gave in to a horrible solution. I purchased the rubber mounting
plinths for a MG Midget. The difference is that the Midgets are a uniform
thickness, whereas the Spitfires is kind of a wedge shape.
After putting them on my car I feel they look fine. No one has noticed
that they are not proper. I know a couple people on the list ruled them out
feeling that they didn't fit well enough. But they are definitely better
than the ones I had on the car.
