now, i had heard that back in those days it wasn't uncommon to
title a car as the year it was sold, not made. for example, if
a dealer had a 1974 Spitfire on his lot that didn't sell untill
1976, he would title it as a 1976. i could be wrong, but i
thought i heard that somewhere.
