Greetings all,
I saw the line about how hot and sunny it was driving around in a Spitfire
this weekend. In my younger years, the 70's and 80's, I drove my Spit
everywhere from Seattle to Green Bay to Denver to Cincinnati but mostly
around Springfield, IL, St. Louis and Chicago. When it was hot and sunny I
usually had to turn my Cardinal baseball hat around to protect the back of my
neck from sunburn. I thought it looked kind of stupid, and I finally found a
lightweight "deerstalker" hat that did the trick. Little did I realize how
cool I must have looked to all those kids in East St. Louis, Chicago, etc.
Pretty soon they started wearing their ball caps backwards without sitting in
a Spitfire. Not cool! So if you tend to sunburn, find one of those
deerstalker hats before everybody thinks it's cool to wear their hats
bassackwards.
