Huw,
I've tried various paint thinners with no luck.I think they are
anodised(sp?)A friend just sanded the black off a set of "wing
finishers" the cast horseshoe pieces and wants me to sandblast them so
he can paint them black.(they are now pitted)will let you know the
results. Rimmer Bros sells them new in black or stainless steel.
