I did that too.
I used the couch.
Wife hates my car !!!
But really, I found out that the cheapest Mineral spirits and a stiff
broom work great.
But be careful the smell will be about as bad as sitting on the couch.
I'm talking about the b..ching level.

To clean oil up on my shop floor, I just put the Spit on Jack stands and
crawl under it for a while. Afterwards, I go into the house and listen
to the wife yell, "you aren't putting those clothes in MY washing
machine!" 8^)
