Yep, I had the same problem with mine.  I even ordered the replacement tips
etc. but it's just a shortcoming with the tool.  This is however the best
cutter for the job.  I have replace (and removed) both floors, sills inner
and outer, both rear wings, rear valance, and soon will be replacing both
front wings on the project 70 Spitfire with this same tool.  Don't bother
with the other one.  I tried the other tool and was quite disappointed with
the results-
