So against my better advice I drove the Spit to (teach) class at a local
college last nite-was mid-way through my spiel when I heard the rumble of
thunder. Raced to the car and got the top mostly up when the deluge
stopped. Having fixed the embarassing "swinging door" syndrome, I was
awaiting the next gremlin with apprehension. The starboard door (prone to
open in a sharp turn, right?) window glass is down and refuses to budge.
No biggie, since the rain quit. Until 10 or so when I start off for the 5
mile trip home. In a wild lightning storm. 1st time the car's been in the
rain since I "finished" (hah!) it. Later heard we got over two inches in
1/2 hour. Least the windshield wipers worked. Trying the bilge pump offa
the sailboat at lunch. Maybe a rotisserie-you know-flip the car like a
rack of lamb to drain the water? Ah, me. Happy Motoring.
