14 months ago I painted the garage floor of our house
with epoxy (a Rust-Oleum "Professional" solvent-based
type). The floor was maybe 30 years old, but cleaner
than average (I doubt anyone ever changed their oil in
it). I power-washed it like crazy with strong cleaner
and etched it with a phosphoric-acid-based product.
Then, a few months ago I started getting a bunch of
blisters on in one area. Under the blisters is a
white, powdery dust. The strange thing is, that
particular area does not seem different than
any other part of the floor, and I noticed nothing
unusual about it when I did the job. (The usual
oily spots under the cars' engines are doing fine.)
I guess I can touch up those spots, but it was
disappointing to see the blisters pop up after
admiring and taking advantage of my nice paint
job for 9 months...
I sort of like what places like Home Depot and
Lowe's put on their concrete floors. Considering
the constant traffic, it holds up really well.
