Don't worry about the age.

My Toro 724 (7 HP, 24") 2-stage snowblower isn't a lot newer and everything
is still available for it.  Actually, although they've made some nice detail
improvements in the newer ones and higher-HP engines are available, the
fundamental machine is still the same - gearbox, drive system, etc.

It'll blow dry or light snow more than 40 feet (far more if you go with the
wind), and wet snow 15 feet or more.  It makes those little 2-cycle flingers
look like toys.

I'd love a newer and more powerful one, but actually, mine is just fine.
They had a "Power Shift" model that had a handle that moved the rear wheels
back a few inches for more digging power on the auger.  I finally decided to
buy one last year, only to discover that they stopped production a year or
two earlier and none were available anymore.
