Thanks everyone for the help and Steve for the link... I now know that
these things really are required as I expected. I wonder how the
contractors will answer that when I tell them they have to come up with
another answer for my garage door. I was thinking that they wanted to sell
me a door and not worry about the consequences and it looks like they are
right.
Now I am back to the drawing board or back to a simple door...

p.s. I was told I don't have enough room for a roll up door like a
commercial roll up, I need 23" above the header for the spool and only have 17"
