I recently replaced the ring and pinion in my 10 bolt,
8 1/2" Chevy rearend. A torque wrench was needed when
mounting the ring gear. I did buy some marking
compound from JEGS so I could tell when I had the
backlash correct. The videotape from Richmond Gear
showing how to do it all was worth what it cost. I had
never done this before. The only problem I had was
that I did not put the marking paint on thick enough
the first few times I tried to check the backlash.
